Despite the hot weather our classes have made a positive start to the year with a high standard of skill and behaviour. Our year 3-6 students have made a start on their ‘Net Games’ unit – discovering the skills, rules and tactics of volleyball with tennis and badminton to be added in the coming weeks.
Fundamental movement skills are the early focus for our lower primary students. These are the building blocks for more complex movements they will encounter later on as they grow older. Activities such as modes of locomotion (hopping, skipping, jumping etc), along with static balance, throwing and catching will be explored, practised and applied to various games and activities.
