I hope you all have had a fantastic Christmas and a safe and enjoyable holiday. Once again we can look forward to an exciting year of events, activities, lessons and exercise – contributing to our students’ health and happiness.
First up on the calendar is our Faction Swimming Carnival. By checking this website you will be kept up to date with all the dates, times, notes and any other info that you may require. The programme and relevant notes will be out soon, but first up is our trials day, and it is required that students from years 4 – 6 go through trials at Riverton Leisureplex so that divisions can be decided.
Yrs 4-6 Wednesday 17 February, 2016 12.30pm to 2.30pm
NOTE: the time trials are only open to those students who have passed stage 4 swimming. Those students who have not passed stage 4 will remain at school during the trials. This is a safety measure.
Students are not forced to swim in any events they are not comfortable with. If your child has passed stage 4, this will be a good chance for them to ‘have a go’ at swimming 50m, to see for themselves if they can make the distance. We will have teachers and parents watching from the side of the pool for any students who begin to struggle and there will also be life-guards on duty at the centre.
*Note – Those students who cannot swim 50m and/or have not yet passed stage 4 will automatically be placed into the 25 m freestyle races at the carnival (assisted by parents in the water). Also, all students have the opportunity to participate in the novelty events at the carnival (fun events assisted by parents in the water).

I encourage all Queen of Apostles families to subscribe to this website so that you are notified by email when a new post has been made, so that you are kept up to date with all things PE and Sport here at Queenies. I hope you have a great start to the school year!
